"Big Bowl is a perfect fit for the new and improved Tabor Center," says Kim Koehn, senior vice president of the Denver region of Equity Office. "We are well on our way to re-establishing Tabor Center as the crown jewel of Downtown Denver." The center will feature four of the more unique eateries in town: Big Bowl, ESPN Zone, the Palm and Cheesecake Factory.

Big Bowl is the second restaurant to sign on at Tabor Center since Equity Office announced a $25-million renovation last December. Construction is already under way on the 23,000-sf ESPN Zone, which will occupy Tabor Center's second floor between Arapahoe and Lawrence streets. ESPN Zone is scheduled to open in this fall, with the entire renovation scheduled for completion in summer 2002.

The restaurant's Tabor Center location will represent Big Bowl's 10th location. The company currently operates six Big Bowl restaurants in the Chicago area and one each in Edina, MN and Reston, VA. A Dallas location is scheduled to open soon.

Big Bowl features pan-Asian favorites such as pad Thai, mu shu wraps, an interactive stir-fry bar, as well as fresh-made ginger ale, hibiscus tea and a variety of Asian-mixed drinks and beers. "We're thrilled to be a central part of the continued revitalization of Downtown Denver," says Wilson Craft, Big Bowl president.

In addition to ESPN Zone and Big Bowl, Tabor Center's $25-million renovation will include significant construction and remodeling to create new pedestrian links between the shopping center, Tabor Center offices and Westin Hotel. The retail center also will undergo a facade reconstruction on the 16th Street Mall, creating the potential for more prominent storefronts for individual retailers. New floor plans are being developed for the first and second floors and most spaces will be built to retailer specifications. The renovation also includes an extra 26,000 sf, bringing Tabor Center's total retail sf to 136,000 sf.

Equity Office owns and manages 14 Denver metro buildings, with an aggregate of more than four million sf. Equity Office's CBD other assets are Denver Post Tower, Trinity Place, 410 17th Street and Dominion Plaza. Equity Office's Denver Tech Center assets include Denver Corporate Center II & III, Metropoint I & II, Millennium Plaza, Quadrant, Terrace Building, Solarium and 4949 S. Syracuse.
