DENVER-Construction revs up later this month on a Big Bowl restaurant at the Tabor Center at the CBD’s edge in the Lower Downtown. Equity Office Properties Trust owns Tabor Center. The upscale noodle restaurant, scheduled to open in the last quarter of this year, will occupy 5,259 sf on the southeast corner of Tabor Center’s east block at Lawrence Street and the 16th Street Mall.
“Big Bowl is a perfect fit for the new and improved Tabor Center,” says Kim Koehn, senior vice president of the Denver region of Equity Office. “We are well on our way to re-establishing Tabor Center as the crown jewel of Downtown Denver.” The center will feature four of the more unique eateries in town: Big Bowl, ESPN Zone, the Palm and Cheesecake Factory.
Big Bowl is the second restaurant to sign on at Tabor Center since Equity Office announced a $25-million renovation last December. Construction is already under way on the 23,000-sf ESPN Zone, which will occupy Tabor Center’s second floor between Arapahoe and Lawrence streets. ESPN Zone is scheduled to open in this fall, with the entire renovation scheduled for completion in summer 2002.
