The site was formerly occupied by the Troy Hilton Hotel, built in 1976 and vacant since the late 1980s. The hotel was torn down earlier this year.
As proposed, the office building will have 1,100 parking spaces, and will match the surrounding businesses in appearance, says Robert Szantner, the architect for the project. The commission agreed unanimously that the plan met all of the city requirements.
