Andrew and Mary Ann Heller have given the symphony a $200,000 grant to apply toward additional office space at 1117 Red River. That office building most recently has been occupied by Data City and is owned by the Fehr Trust. The symphony will be moving into the space in the next 45 days, a spokeswoman tells GlobeSt.com.

The Austin Symphony's administrative 18-member staff currently is located in the 3,500-sf historic house now know as Symphony Square, located at 1101 Red River. Plans are being made to keep the symphony's box office at Symphony Square. A portion of the staff will be moved to 1117 Red River.

The new office building, which will provide an additional 5,400 sf, will be a much-needed addition for the arts organization, a symphony spokeswoman says. She's mum about the price, but did say the symphony has represented itself in the transaction.

The grant is contingent upon an equal amount of matching donations. The Hellers plan to add $50,000 when the original challenge grant is met.
