The company announced this week that it plans to close to the customer service center, opened in the mid-1980s, within two months. Farmers will also close its service center in Columbus, OH.

However, Farmers will keep its billing center, which employs 125, open in the same location in Carlsbad.

The underwriting and customer-service operations in Carlsbad will be consolidated into Farmers offices in Pleasanton and Simi Valley, CA and Pocatello, ID, according to the company.

The entire closure will be complete by June 29, the company says.
