Previously kSARIA occupied 2,500 sf of space in the Fraunhofer Center for Manufacturing Innovation at Boston University. With its current staff of 40 the company need to expand and now occupies 32,000 sf of space in this town about 20 miles north of Boston. An additional 22,000 sf of space will be added to the offices in June.
"Boston University was always temporary," Melanie Dukas, marketing communication manager for the company, tells GlobeSt.com. "We were looking for a place that was easy to get to and had room for growth." Dukas adds that the many telecom companies in the immediate area added to the Park's appeal.
Company CFO Mary Barletta points out that because kSARIA is a manufacturing company it was not easy to find space. "We are pretty unique for here," she says. "But this park offered space like that so it was perfect for our needs."
In a released statement, kSARIA says that it expects to begin production of its standardized automation assembly systems for fiber-optic components later this year. The company is currently adding employees and anticipates over 100 employees by the end of the year.
