MBNA America, a global independent credit card lender, has signed a five-year lease for 48,000 sf in two buildings of the Summit Office Campus, in a transaction valued at $7.3 million. The space, which the company already occupies, houses the company's western regional headquarters.

"We chose Summit Office Campus because it has the size and flexibility we need," says Brian Dalphon of MBNA. "In addition, the surrounding Aliso Viejo community has a strong business base, great close-by amenities and a diverse mix of available housing."

The law firms of Stetina, Brunda, Garred and Brucker, and Bridgeford, Knottenerus and Gleason also have both signed five-year leases. Stetina, Brunda, Garred and Brucker, a firm specializing in both domestic and foreign intellectual property prosecution, litigation and licensing, signed up for 11,139 sf in a deal valued at $1.67 million. Bridgeford, Knottenerus and Gleason took 3,128 sf in a transaction valued at $500,000.

Parker Properties, and Stetina, Brunda, Garred and Brucker were represented in the transactions by Ted Snell, Carol Trapani, Bill Welch and John Desper of CB Richard Ellis' Newport Beach office. Shane Wilder of Julien Studley's Irvine office represented Bridgeford, Knottenerus and Gleason. According to industry sources Gene Weaver of IC Properties of Palm Springs represented MBNA in its transaction.
