WestFarm, owner of the Darigold brand and the operating arm of the Northwest Dairy Association, is trading the 70-year-old facility for something newer in an attempt to keep its $1 billion company competitive. A decision on a new location has reportedly not been made. It will be several months before a move is made.

The success of the three-building development south of the facility coupled with Immunex's planned campus to the north is expected to generate significant interest in the property. The site can support an estimated 320,000 sf of development assuming the old buildings were torn down.

With old and new economy companies both struggling, it is possible the site will be scooped up by a national developer, which would then likely hold off on its redevelopment until it could secure enough built-to-suit tenants to cover the financial risk of development, or until the economy heats back up to enough to warrant speculative construction.
