Apple Takes 39,000 SF for Second Call Center Site

AUSTIN-Apple Computer's just trying to keep pace with tech-support demand. The firm, which leases 250,000 sf at Promontory Point, has signed for another 39,000 sf at Braker Center. A temporary deal that could turn permanent, the broker says.

AUSTIN-Apple Computer Corp. has signed an 18-month sublease for 39,000 sf in BrakerCenter in north Austin to expand its Austin-based call center operations.

Apple already leases 250,000 sf in Promontory Point on Texas 183 at US 290 for call center operations. The additional space, located in Stonehollow B, is intended to keep up with higher demand levels for computer support, says broker Chris Teesdale of Dallas-based Swearingen Realty Group, which has represented Apple in the transaction.
