This year, a Sprint E/Solutions Internet Center opened in the Chelsea district of New York City at 111 Eighth Ave. Other existing locations are in Sacramento, CA, and Reston, VA.

Sprint says it plans to construct and open a total of 18 Sprint E/Solutions Internet Centers by year-end 2002 in cities such as Atlanta, Dallas, Kansas City, MO, Los Angeles, San Jose, CA and Washington, DC, and global locations in Europe and Asia. Currently, Sprint manages 1.5 million sf of hosting space. The Boston Internet Center will offer Sprint's customers application and Web hosting support, collocation, monitor and report performance, and IT professional services.

"Opening Sprint E/Solutions Internet Centers throughout the United States and abroad is part of our high-growth strategy of expanding our data and Web services. As a key market in the technology services industry, Boston is an essential step toward this goal," says Keith Paglusch, president of Sprint E/Solutions. "Our Boston Internet Center customers will have the advantage of Sprint's expertise in managed and Web services, security and customer service, lessening the IT worries associated with running a business in today's e-economy."

The Boston Sprint E/Solutions Internet Center will provide direct access to Sprint's high-speed, fiber-optic Tier 1 IP backbone. Customers also will benefit from Sprint's security and managed services.

The Internet Center is custom designed with raised floors, HVAC temperature-control systems with separate cooling zones and private, locked cabinets and cages. In addition, the Internet Center will offer a wide range of physical security features, including smoke detection and fire suppression systems as well as video surveillance and security breach alarms.
