Developer Vince DiLorenzo says he wants to add the venue to create an entertainment complex to go with nearby Viking Ice Arena, Hazel Park Raceway and the bowlingcenter.
Fox Aluminum Co. is scheduled to open their new 43,000-sf facility on Woodward Heights, just west of the ice arena.
The former Quality Inn on Nine Mile and John R. roads has been turned over to new management. Nick Garmo has made it a Guest House Inn and Suites. Garmo says he wants to make the establishment a four-star hotel.
A large, upscale condominium development of owner-occupied townhomes, thefirst such project in many years for the city, will be under constructionsoon, says City Manager Joe Young.
