The company is scheduled to close next month on the purchase of 13 acres on which a 128,000-sf building is to constructed. Plans call for construction to begin this summer, with occupancy to occur in next fall. US Central Credit Union is currently headquartered in Lighton Plaza along College Boulevard.

U.S. Central will occupy about 75,000 sf, with the remaining space to be leased. The company's lease in Lighton Plaza runs through 2004. Colliers Turley Martin Tucker will help the company find someone to sublease. Steve Coon, Mike Klamm and Bret Sheffield, of Colliers Turley Martin Tucker, respresented U.S. Central in its negotiations in Renner Ridge.

George Butler Associates Inc. and Walton Construction Co. Inc. will provide design and construction of the new building. George Butler Associates will also become a tenant in the Renner Ridge Corporate Center when its moves from another Lenexa location this May.

Through the city of Lenexa, US Central will receive industrial revenue bond financing for the its purchase and construction. Details of the financing package have yet to be released.

The city of Lenexa also offered bonds in enticing Community America Credit Union to move its headquarters to Renner Ridge. The building in which Community America is moving is scheduled to be completed next year.

Renner Ridge Corporate Center is a 75-acre park that is expected to eventually hold about 650,000 sf of office and retail space, as well as a hotel. It is located along Renner Road, just off of Interstates 435 and 35 and Kansas Highway 10. It is owned by Quadrangle Develoment Inc. of Chicago. Bryan Johnson and Ed Elder, with Grubb & Ellis/The Winbury Group, are the brokers representing Quadrangle.
