The recognition marks the sixth successive year the multifamily developer has been cited by the National Association of Home Builders, either as a winner or finalist in the annual event.
The 435-unit Gables Metropolitan in the Dunwoody/Perimeter area of Atlanta was named Best Multifamily Community. Gables Palma Vista in Florida took top honors in the Best Luxury Multifamily Development category.
Gables was also a finalist in the Best Site Plan category for its Gables Celebration community in Orlando.
Gables Metropolitan features one, two and three- bedroom units from 616 sf to 2,211 sf with monthly rents of $795 to $3,025. Palma Vista has up to four bedroom units from 1,272 sf to 2,209 sf with average rents of $1,325 to $2,375 per month.
Gables expects to ramp up a $900,000 gain shortly after it sells about 2.5 acres in the Buckhead area of Atlanta, according to the company.
That sale comprises what would have been the second phase of the firm's newest luxury rental community, Gables Places. The community includes one, two and three-bedroom apartments from 900 to 3,300 sf with rents beginning at $1,500 per month.
Gables owns 83 communities with 24,774 completed apartment homes, along with 10 communities with 2,719 apartment homes under development or lease-up in Georgia, Texas, Tennessee and Florida.
