Fortunately help is on the way. Construction on a new $40-million lot is slated to start next winter and be completed by mid 2003. The satellite parking lot will be replaced with a larger, 15,000-space lot. The lot will be located north of Cookingham Drive, near Bern Street.

Currently, the 9,660-space satellite lot near Paris Street is at capacity and closed until after spring break. The outside lot, nearest the terminal had 75 spaces open and Terminal B was full and Terminal C was 95% full.

The city currently has 17,400 parking spaces at KCI.
