Extensive remodeling has been ongoing this year, giving the inside a Caribbean resort look to the tune of $15 million. The casino was open during renovations.

Exterior renovations will go on through the summer. Talk is still surfacing as to whether a hotel will be built on the site. When submitting a proposal to the Kansas City Port Authority and the Missouri Gaming Commission, the owners-to-be presented plans for a 200-room hotel. Company officials say they are still weighing their options.

Isle of Capri in Kansas City is the 14th for the parent company. It is currently building a casino in Booneville, MO and a 16th in south St. Louis County.
