Isle of Capri Riverboat Casino Opens

KANSAS CITY, NORTH, MO-Renovations to the tune of $15 million have been done since last year's purchase for $33.5 million. There still is talk as to whether a 200-room hotel will be built on the site.

KANSAS CITY, NORTH, MO-A ribbon cutting at the Isle of Capri riverboat gambling casino Friday signals it grand opening just north of the river. Last year, Mississippi-based Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. bought the Flamingo Hilton Casino from Hilton Hotels Corp. for $33.5 million.

Extensive remodeling has been ongoing this year, giving the inside a Caribbean resort look to the tune of $15 million. The casino was open during renovations.
