Company founder Paul Jones, who serves as nLine's chief marketing officer, says the company will start looking for manufacturing space within the next six months. The company currently employs 28 and leases 11,000 sf of office space at 4150 Freidrich Lane off Ben White Boulevard. The company's plan is to lease 40,000 sf of space to launch its anticipated manufacturing facility.

"We're scouting for manufacturing space with a clean room very near our current location," Jones tells GlobeSt.com. "Our current location is very convenient to the airport and also to companies like Semantech and AMD. That's where we want to be."

Jones is optimistic the company, founded in January 2000, will be ready to meet its anticipated milestones and ramp up its manufacturing line by year's end. nLine expects to grow to 50 employees by the end of this year and possibly to 100 or 150 employees by the end of next year, when the manufacturing operation will be under way.

nLine recently has closed on $7.4 million in second round venture funding. Investors in the second round included Advanced Micro Devices, Hat Creek Partners, Intel Capital, Sensor Technology Development Fund, SG Cowan Venture Partners, TAT Capital Partners Ltd. And Thomas Weisel Partners. The investment brings total equity investment in nLine up to $18.4 million. The company foresees a third round of venture capital funding and then possibly an IPO, in its future, Jones says.
