Largest Spec in a Decade to Break Ground in May

ANNAPOLIS, MD-Construction on the largest speculative office building to be developed here in the past decade will begin in May at 888 Best Gate Rd., according to developer MIE Properties, Inc.

ANNAPOLIS, MD-Baltimore-based MIE Properties Inc. will break ground on its 135,000-sf building at 888 Best Gate Road May 9. The $13.5 million building, located across from Annapolis Mall at Commerce Park Drive, will be the largest speculative office building built in Annapolis in the last 10 years.

“The Annapolis market has shown a great demand for upscale Class A office space over the last few years,” says MIE founder and president Ed St. John. This is the company’s third Annapolis project, but its first multi-story office structure in the county. The building will feature 33,750-sf floor plates, telecommunications and Internet facilities, and more than 600 parking spaces.
