Arts Chief Joins Architectural and Planning Board

ST. PAUL, MN-Sheila Smith is executive director of Minnesota Citizens for the Arts. The 10-member board that is responsible for architecture, urban design and comprehensive land-use planning in the Capitol Mall.

ST. PAUL, MN-Sheila Smith, executive director of Minnesota Citizens for the Arts, has been appointed by Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura to the Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board. Smith, who lives in Forest Lake, MN, will serve a four-year term on the Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board, a 10-member board that is responsible for architecture, urban design and comprehensive land-use planning in the Capitol Mall.

The state is looking at consolidating more of its departments, many of which are scattered in leased space around downtown St. Paul, on the Capitol campus.
