City of Beacon officials state that the Beacon Landing project is a 23-acre former industrial site, owned by Scenic Hudson, which will be redeveloped as a mixed-use area with commercial, retail, restaurant and marina development combined with public parkland, a waterfront trail, multilingual interactive interpretive signage, and a public fishing pier. The project will also seek to connect the new Dia Center for the Arts and the reconstructed ferry dock with Beacon's Downtown.

"This award will help the City of Beacon move forward with a plan to revitalize its waterfront and bring families back to the river," Governor Pataki said. "As the Hudson continues its remarkable recovery, we must provide more opportunities for all New Yorkers to enjoy full access to the river, whether you're an angler, hiker, biker or a bird watcher."
