The general project was approved by the City Council in February. It will include offices, multifamily and senior housing, a hotel and a restaurant. There will be a vote in June to get community approval for an above-grade parking garage and 500-room, seven story hotel.
In addition to the hotel and parking garage, the project features 210 multi-family residential units, 190 senior housing units, 300,000 sf of office space and a two-acre community park. A grant program from the state will offset some of the project costs because the development is designed to make use of public transportation and is within blocks of a planned BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station.
