The hospital's plan, which is now before the city of White Plains for approval, would entail the renovation of existing space. It will also include the development of two biomedical buildings totaling 380,000 sf of space Hildesley explained.

The hospital plans to build a 192,000-square-foot laboratory building to accommodate the growing research needs of the existing E.W. Bourne Behavioral Research Laboratory, which integrates behavioral, neurological, pharmacological and general studies of the psychological mechanisms controlling food intake and body weight, hospital officials explained. In additon, the hospital proposes to construct a building totalig approximately 190,000 square feet that wlll be the "Center for Advanced Proton Technology."

The hospital submitted its plan to the city on Feb. 22. That same day the hospital and the city of White Plains settled litigation stemming from the city's prior denials of two development plans for its White Plains campus. The hospital had proposed (Plan A) medical laboratory space, housing and some retail development.

The proposal also included the donation of a sizable parcel of vacant land for use as parkland. That plan, as well as a proposal for biotechnology development (Plan B), was voted down by the city last year.

The April 19 meeting of the Commercial Investment Division of the Westchester County Board of Realtors will begin at 8:15 a.m. It will be held at the Board offices at 59 South Broadway.
