The duo says it has several projects on tap in Sonoma, Marin and Napa counties. Matt White, company president, says the new division will help develop 400 apartment units in the North Bay through 2002.

The company and Western National Group plan to start construction this fall on a mixed-use project that will include a 100-unit apartment complex along with 120,000 sf of office space and 10,000 sf of retail space. The partnership also plans a second project of 265 apartment units, 500,000 sf of office space and 45,000 sf of retail.

To prepare for the growth, Basin Street has bumped two senior project managers to divisional vice president positions. As part of a plan to beef up tenant services while expanding into multifamily development, seven-year veteran Frank Marinello has been named the company's vice president of construction, a new position. Scott Stranzl, with the company since 1996, has been named vice president of leasing.
