The duo says it has several projects on tap in Sonoma, Marin and Napa counties. Matt White, company president, says the new division will help develop 400 apartment units in the North Bay through 2002.
The company and Western National Group plan to start construction this fall on a mixed-use project that will include a 100-unit apartment complex along with 120,000 sf of office space and 10,000 sf of retail space. The partnership also plans a second project of 265 apartment units, 500,000 sf of office space and 45,000 sf of retail.
To prepare for the growth, Basin Street has bumped two senior project managers to divisional vice president positions. As part of a plan to beef up tenant services while expanding into multifamily development, seven-year veteran Frank Marinello has been named the company's vice president of construction, a new position. Scott Stranzl, with the company since 1996, has been named vice president of leasing.
Marinello will manage all construction-related activities and will oversee the completion and submission of construction permits, manage project budgets and schedules and address tenant improvement requests on existing leases.
Stranzl will be in charge of all leasing in Basin Street's portfolio, which totals more than 1.8 million sf of commercial office and mixed-use space. He will structure new and build-to-suit lease transactions and oversee disposition of assets. He will also have a hand in Basin Street's marketing efforts.
