AEW/Midway Industrial LP owns the building, situated at 144440 JFK Blvd. near George Bush Intercontinental Airport. John Duffie of Midway Cos. has represented the building owner. Duffie tells GlobeSt.com that this lease makes Dynacare Hermann the major tenant and brings the building to 75% occupancy. Nippon, which had moved into the structure when it opened 1 1/2 years ago, leases about 40,000 sf.
"We didn't build that project thinking we would have that kind of tenant," says Duffie marveling at the fact that a major medical lab has chosen to locate outside of the medical center. Duffie says the industrial space had been built with tenants like Nippon in mind.
The 192,000-sf building is the one that Midway's built in the business park. Midway's other projects have been Hydrolift, now owner of its site; 14449 Heathrow Forest Parkway, which is a leased holding; and a two-story, 80,000-sf office building that counts Administaff as the major tenant, occupying 51,000 sf.
Midway also is hard at work in the Central Green business park, where it has four of five planned buildings now under construction.
