MIAMI-The Federal Aviation Administration has approved two multistory buildings being built near South Florida airports and heliports and tentatively approval two others, including a three-tower 42-story condominium project that is about to become the largest skyscraper in Downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Regulatory officials fully cleared the work on a planned $25 million, nine-story building that Hogan Group is developing for the Teachers Insurance & Annuity Association. Miami-based Burger King Corp. will use the building as its new headquarters site.

The 123-foot-tall structure in Waterford at Blue Lagoon, a 203-acre corporate park at Northwest 57th Avenue and Blue Lagoon Drive, just north of Miami International Airport, does not exceed Federal obstruction standards, according to a recently released FAA memorandum.
