Two Plaza Area Restaurants Make Moves

KANSAS CITY- Caravan Espresso finds a more permanent home, while Joe Joe's Italian eatery will stay in its location near the Plaza but expand into the Northland.

KANSAS CITY-A couple of Plaza area eateries are making news. The first, Caravan Espresso, has decided to put its roots in the lower level of the Unity Temple on the Plaza at 707 W. 47th St. Another restaurant, Joe Joe’s Italian eatery will stay in its location, just a few blocks north of the Plaza and will also be expanding into the Northland.

Caravan Espresso will be located next to Eden Alley vegetarian restaurant and The Good Book bookstore. Previously, owners Dean Ottinger and his wife Starlet Scott were operating their business from a mobile espresso bar, taking it on the road to such events as Starlight Theatre, the Renaissance Festival and to Arrowhead Stadium. The new shop will sell espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, Italian sodas and teas, as well as baked goods.
