$200-Mil Development Debuting in Granby

GRANBY, CO-Caribou Partners has unveiled its latest project, a $200-million, mixed-use development in a mountain town west of Denver. The plan calls for a 13-acre, grocery-anchored retail center and top-notch 18-hole golf course.

GRANBY, CO-Caribou Partners LLC is gearing up to launch a $200-million development in this mountain town west of Denver in Grand County. Caribou Partners, headed by Colorado ski resort consultant Jerry Jones, has purchased 441 acres across US Highway 40 along the Fraser River with financial partner Legg Mason Real Estate Services. In the past, Jones served as president of Beaver Creek and Keystone Resorts, executive vice president of the Sun Valley Co., and general manager of Snowmass Resorts Co.

The name Caribou Ranch comes from the name of a mining camp in the 1880s that was near the site. The undertaking is a mixed-use project that includes a 13-acre, grocery-anchored retail center. The development will feature 608 home sites, with lots ranging in price from the mid-$80,000s to about $130,000. The residential component calls for single-family, cluster housing, townhomes, duplexes, condominiums and mountain cabins.
