So, Wellbridge, the facility's Denver-based parent company, will replace it with a $7-million, 40,000-sf club that will be large enough to serve 20% more members. Construction will be completed this summer.

"There will be no interruption of service for Colorado Athletic Club members," says Ed Williams, senior vice president of Wellbridge. "We will close our existing facility and will immediately open the doors of our new Denver Tech Center club just three blocks away."

The new club will be at 5555 DTC parkway. Features in the new club that aren't found in the existing one will include a full-court basketball gymnasium and a six-lane indoor swimming pool. It also will sport an expanded free and machine weight area, group exercise studio, mind/body studio, spinning studio, and expanded cardio area.

Denver-based Ohlson-Lavoioe Corp. is the architect. Korte Co. of St. Louis is the general contractor.
