Former Theater to Become Build-To-Suit Gym

ST. CHARLES, MO-W.P. Carey & Co. LLC buys a former 38,500-sf AMC movie theatre in the Regency Square shopping center here for $6.5 million and plans to convert it to a 24 Hour Fitness center.

ST. CHARLES, MO-W.P. Carey & Co. LLC has bought a build-to-suit fitness center on behalf of Corporate Property Associates 14. The 38,500-sf building was acquired for $6.5 million.

Corporate Property Associates 14 is a public non-traded REIT and a member of the $2.5-billion W.P. Carey Group.

The facility previously was home to an AMC multiplex theater. It is being developed for Fitness Holdings Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Fitness Holdings Worldwise Inc. It is located in Regency Square, which sits along Regency Parkway, just south of Interstate 70. The facility will operate under the 24 Hour Fitness name.
