The move consolidated the company's Sacramento-based operations and vacated an additional 10,000 sf of office space on American River Drive in Sacramento that were occupied by a predecessor company prior to a 1999 merger when the operation became part of Simpata. Simpata signed a seven-year lease with Broadstone Associates at the Folsom site.

Simpata may not be the only company to find Folsom attractive in the coming months. Demand for office space in the area has prompted developers to push ahead with new office projects and new phases of existing projects despite a softening office market in other parts of the Bay Area. The Evergreen Co. plans to start soon on the first building at its Folsom Corporate Center.

The site of Simpata's new offices is in a recently completed building by developer Richard Nelson and Broadstone master developer Harry Elliott. The 60,000 sf building is completely leased and Simpata's neighbors include PowerSchool Inc. and Prudential Securities. Nelson's next building will be 80,000 sf and will be finished in May.
