Robbie Hall, franchise development director, tells GlobeSt.com that corporate relocations, business expansions and corporate training facilities have fueled the selection of the development for the new facility.

The extended-stay hotel, owned by Kalpna LP, had taken 14 months to deliver instead of the usual year, according to company statements. There currently are 98 Homewood Suites and 13 under construction in the chain's portfolio. Five of the hotels are located in Houston. Each hotel costs between $7 million and $9 million to construct. Trull Hollensworth had been the architect for the latest venue.

"The need for hotels that cater to guests staying five or more consecutive nights greatly exceeds the available supply," says Ken Patel, Kalpna vice president of operations. "Our new facility was created specifically to meet the special needs of travelers who stay at a property for extended amounts of time."

The hotel is located at 29813 Interstate 45 north. The facility features an outdoor pool, hot tub, exercise room, executive business center and more than 2,400 sf of meeting space.
