In announcing Rampe's selection as this year's MVP, Orange County Partnership President and Chief Executive Officer Anne Barber describes Rampe as, "a true economic development partner. In recalling his instrumental role in numerous initiatives over the years, it is clear that Joe Rampe was the only choice for our MVP award this year."

Rampe has been credited with initiating programs such as "Build Now -- Orange, the Newburgh-Stewart Empire Zone and the Chamber of Commerce of Orange County and Partnerships' joint Business Retention Program. The County Executive has also supported a number of business and quality of life initiatives that have included the county's new 911 system, as well as plans for transit, parks and tourism in the county.

Richard Hansen, chairman of the Orange County Legislature, says of the MVP honoree, "Joe Rampe is the catalyst behind many of the business and community-related programs in place today."
