Wells Fargo Buys 50 Acres For Expansion

SHOREVIEW, MN-The San Francisco-based financial company's Twin Cities operations are growing rapidly. Wells Fargo pays $7 million to Wispark Corp. for land in Rice Creek Corporate Park that could hold 600,000 sf of office space.

SHOREVIEW, MN-Wells Fargo says it has bought 50 acres here with plans to develop it to provide more space for its Twin Cities operations. San Francisco-based Wells Fargo has extensive operations in the Twin Cities given that Minneapolis-based Norwest Corp. bought Wells Fargoseveral years ago, changed its name and moved its headquarters office to San Francisco.

Wells Fargo paid $7 million to Wispark Corp., a subsidiary of Milwaukee-based Wisconsin Energy Corp., for the property. The site is in Rice Creek Corporate Park, near the southeast quadrant of Interstate 35W and County Road J. While the site in Rice Creek Corporate Park could hold two buildings of up to 300,000 sf each, Wells Fargo says it has no plans at this point what they will develop on the site.
