The hotel NW/Chateau is part of Chateau Court, a 13-acre, European-style hotel, retail and office space development. Houston-based Forum Development is the owner and developer of the project, located at the intersection of Texas 249 and Willowchase Boulevard near FM 1960.

Forum Development president, William Karrington says he chose Marcus to manage the hotel based on "their track record for quickly ramping up properties to profitability." Michael Hool, director of development for Marcus Hotels & Resorts tells GlobeSt.com that the key to quick profitability is to identify the market and then marry the needs to the hotel. Hool says that Compaq's corporate headquarters, situated less than a mile away, will be a major business target. Hool also feels the strength of the Hilton brand will help the new hotel. The six-story hotel also will feature a 5,000-sf conference area, which Hool anticipates will be a prime attraction for nearby businesses such as the Methodist Health Care System facility.

Hool says plans are in the works with Forum Development for other Texas locations. Marcus owns and manages two Hilton Hotels in Milwaukee and Madison, WI. Another Marcus division, Baymont Business Suites, has four Houston hotels and 15 Texas hotels.
