LONDON-The Kensington Hotel in West Kensington, London, has been sold to the Lancaster Landmark Hotel Co., based in Thailand. Built in 1998, its guest rooms, among the largest in the four-star market here, are outfitted with high-tech amenities such as broadband Internet access, voice mail, fax machines and two telephone lines. Its health club has a full-service spa, two gymnasiums, whirlpool, sauna, a steam room and an aromatherapy room. A large proportion of its rooms, 183 out of a total of 226, are suites.

Commenting on the sale, Nick Marsh, executive vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle’s Hotels here, noted that the asset was actively sought after by several investors because they, “recognized the potential of the hotel’s location, which is in a major infrastructure and transportation development phase. Plans are in place for a new shopping complex, leisure and entertainment facilities, office space and a new tube station.”
