"We are looking for an opportunity to have more modern facilities," Laurie Zimbalatti, marketing manager for Necco, tells GlobeSt.com. "We would also like to consolidate all our locations in Revere." In addition to the two buildings in Cambridge, Necco has a warehouse in Woburn.

Zimbalatti notes that Revere's access to public transportation and its proximity to Boston makes it a logical choice for the company. Adds Zimbalatti, "There is a building already there so we have a base to work from."

Necco has bought several candy companies over the last few years, most recently, the Clark Company. A final decision on Necco's relocation plans will be made by the end of the month.
