"Our buyers have shown confidence in the projects and the future of Schweitzer,'' says Ron Cook, president of Harbor Mountain Co., explaining that owners are expected to enter their units into a rental pool for lease and rent to the public. "Selling $6 million of real estate in one afternoon is amazing. I'm extremely proud of this achievement and look forward to putting the first shovel in the dirt."

White Pine Lodge will be located in the heart of Schweitzer's ski-resort village. The 75,000-sf steel and concrete structure will feature ground-level retail space plus 48 fully furnished one-two-and three-bedroom condominiums with sweeping views of Lake Pend Oreille and the Cabinet Mountains.

White Pine Lodge will be the first of several planned buildings in the 10-year plan. Groundbreaking is scheduled for next month. Spokane-based Lydig Construction Co. is handling the project, which was designed by Seattle-based Callison Architecture.

Privately held Harbor Resorts and publicly traded WestCoast Hotels announced last week an agreement wherein White Pine and Harbor's popular Selkirk Lodge will be added to WestCoast's system of hotels. Publicly traded WestCoast has 45 hotels and more than 8,000 hotel rooms in nine western states, including 32 hotels in Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Montana. The company says its 110 sales agents will soon be sending visitors to Schweitzer on a four-season basis.

Harbor Mountain Co is affiliated with Seattle-based Harbor Properties Inc., whose Harbor Resorts division owns three regional ski resorts – Idaho's Schweitzer Mountain and Stevens Pass and Mission Ridge in Central Washington State. Harbor Properties manages 460,000 sf of commercial office and retail space and 1.6 million sf of apartment space in Seattle.
