Cingular Wireless Closing Two Call Centers in Georgia

ATLANTA-The locally based firm is opening six new call centers in the Southeast, just as it vacates a 30,000 sf facility in Atlanta and a 4,000 sf location in Macon, GA.

ATLANTA-Atlanta-based Cingular Wireless is closing a 30,000 sf call center in Atlanta and a 4,000 sf center in Macon, GA, along with 18 others, just as it opens six new sites throughout the southeast.

Officials with the cellular company say the consolidation and expansion will save the firm more than $40 million the first year by streamlining operations into single facilities.

The buildings in Atlanta and Macon will be sub-leased, but no determination has been made as to when that will happen or how the buildings will be used.
