The only category in which permits were ahead of pace was in new construction, with 29 permits issued this year, compared to 25 last year.
During the first three months of this year, the remodeling and miscellaneous category is where numbers were significantly lower. To date, the total is 135, compared to 192 last year. In the first three quarters of this year and last, no permits were issued in the new hospitals, schools and churches category.
In March this year, the city granted eight new construction permits and 48 permits in the remodel/miscellaneous category.
