KKE Architects Chosen to Design Jail

MINNEAPOLIS-The architectural firm will look at incorporating video conferencing technology as part of the $9-million, 100-bed facility to be built in Owatonna, MN beginning in the spring of 2002.

MINNEAPOLIS-KKE Architects was hired by Steele County’s board of commissioners to design a new detention center and arraignment court in Owatonna, MN. The $9-million stand-alone facility will have from 80 to 100 beds, with expansion for up to 150 beds.

The Minneapolis-based architectural firm is looking at incorporating video technology for use visiting, medical screening and arraignments. Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2002.
