The station is a 1,100 megawatt natural gas-fired power plant designed to service more than one million area residents in Nevada. The Apex Industrial Park, a private corporation, was created for heavy industrial activities outside Las Vegas.
Apex Industrial Park plans to invest more than $200 million in infrastructure projects over the next 15 years in Clark County, NV, according to Mirant's statement.
Mirant develops, constructs, owns and operates power plants and sells wholesale electricity, natural gas. It controls more than 20,000 megawatts of electric generation capacity worldwide and employs 7,000 employees in Europe, Asia and North America.
