The medical campus is located on a 24-acre tract at the southwest corner of Interstate 45 and Texas 242, also known as College Park Drive. St. Luke's Episcopal Health System had bought the site last year from the Woodlands Operating Co. LP, and plans to use it as a satellite facility to the citywide network of St. Luke medical facilities.

St. Luke's is undertaking the project because it says there is an obvious lack of health-care options available in the Woodlands. Texas Children's Hospital will provide pediatric services at the campus along with TIRR Rehabilitation Centers for physical therapy services, Hospice at the Texas Medical Center and Texas Heart Institute. Michael Jihn, president and CEO of St. Luke's says the facility will leverage the strength of St. Luke's technology as well as its patient-focused care practices to provide new health care options in the area.
