Union Station Hopes Titanic is Retail Draw

KANSAS CITY-Officials hope the exhibit and traveling store increase admissions and sales at refurbished Union Station during its five-month run. A Union Station restaurant is named for a guest of honor at the Titanic launch.

KANSAS CITY-Operators of the refurbished Union Station hope to increase its somewhat stagnant admissions numbers with a new exhibition — the Titanic. The new showing of “Titanic: The Exhibition” opened this weekend and will run through Sept. 9.

Included in the display are replicas of passenger quarters, actual dinnerware recovered from the ship and a wall of ice that replicates the frigid temperatures in which the Titanic sank.
