The San Diego-based London Group Realty Advisors Inc. further recommends developing both a larger regional technology center and a network of technology parks where manufacturing operations can nourish and grow through close proximity to each other.

London Group Realty, hired by the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corp., identified the following sites: - Two sites in Otay Ranch in Chula Vista- Fanita Ranch in Santee,- The international border area of Otay Mesa, - The Carlsbad Raceway area- The Hewlett Packard site in Fallbrook - The ConRock site in Miramar, and - Three South County locations, including Brown Field, Ocean Ranch and Otay Ranch.

The study found that the county will generate up to 40,000 new jobs over the next two to three years, much of it in the high-tech, biotech, electronics and telecommunications sectors. The county will add between 64,000 and 105,000 new high-tech jobs over the next 20 years, according to The London Group.

Based on supply and demand, the study concludes that an immediate demand exists for a regional tech center, as well as potential for smaller tech parks throughout the county.
