McMenamins Detail Next Conversion Project

BEND, OR-Brian and Mike McMenamin's conversion of an 87-year-old catholic school property here into one of their popular brewpub and bed & breakfast operations will be the first McMenamins east of the Cascades.

BEND, OR-McMenamins Pubs and Breweries officials recently detailed their plans for converting a former private school property in downtown Bend into its first brewpub/bed & breakfast operation east of the Cascades. Portland-based McMenamins last year took out a two-year option to purchase the two-acre former St. Francis School property.

The property includes the 87-year-old catholic school building, the parish center next door and several outbuildings. The company plans to begin renovating the 87-year-old school in the spring of 2002.
