The good news for developers is that the list has been whittled to fewer than expected. Buildings can be expected to block views from some of the more popular vantage points, including the South Lake Union district.

The ordinances for views in the Puget Sound area are often unclear. While 86 landmarks are listed by the City of Seattle, there is no indication from what viewpoints the landmarks should be seen.

Representatives of the City of Seattle's Strategic Planning Office and Department of Design, Construction and Land Use submitted the proposal to the Seattle City Council. Official legislation could be proposed by July.
