While the company declines to comment on specific sites, which are located along Route 495, it does acknowledge to GlobeSt.com that it is considering its options regarding its real estate. "At this time we have nothing to announce as far as any plans for specific facilities in Massachusetts," Frank Briamanti, a spokesperson for Lucent, tells GlobeSt.com. "We did announce that we are looking at consolidation efforts across the board in the company in all different locations."
The consolidation is part of the New Jersey-based telecommunications company's restructuring plan to cut costs. The company plans on laying off 10,000 employees worldwide.
