"We had a lot of chances to partner with larger firms," said Eric Postle of Bellevue-based Puget Sound Properties Commercial Real Estate, LLC. "But Binswanger allowed us to maintain the level of service we have in the area while giving us more support in corporate services."

Binswanger/CBB and Puget Sound Properties Commercial Real Estate Services, L.L.C. announced the formation of Binswanger/Puget Sound Properties, a joint venture serving Washington State. The PSP agency's main focus has been in the Interstate 5 corridor from Everett to Tacoma. The company has 14 agents and has been a primary player in the bulging Puget Sound office and industrial market the past six years.

The partnership is another prime example of a competent local firm gaining the exposure, network and management of an established national firm with strong international ties. The venture gives Puget Sound Properties both an international platform to assist its locally headquartered clients as well as access to Binswanger's resources in corporate real estate services. Binswanger, in turn gets a presence in the Pacific Northwest and the expanded capability of services to its clients on the West Coast and Pacific Rim areas.

Puget Sound Properties' client list is impressive and includes companies that could easily use Binswanger's worldwide presence - Spiegel, Eddie Bauer, Airborne Freight Corporation, Premera Blue Cross, Enron Corporation and DHL Worldwide.

With 160 offices and 5,200 employees worldwide, Binswanger/CBB also brings top clients to the table including longtime Northwest companies Boeing and Weyerhaeuser. Binswanger, founded in 1931, joined with the U.K. firm Chesterton and Germany's Blumenauer in 1993 to form Chesterton Blumenauer Binswanger (CBB). The company, which also has main offices in London and Frankfurt, offers project and facility management services, valuation, financial services and advisory/consulting.

Postle, a commercial broker who joined Puget Sound Properties in 1997 after 10 years with Cushman & Wakefield, said Binswanger's expertise in construction management was one of the reasons his company chose Binswanger. "We were impressed with the number of they things they do well," Postle said. "To get that kind of support immediately is extremely important to what we do."
