"The theater will serve as an anchor to the already existing businesses that are there including Chevy's Restaurant and the mall food court," Moorefield tells GlobeSt. "There's also a now defunct Wards store that along with new retailers is likely to (generate) renewed interest in the mall."

The mall is located at East 14th Street and Fairmont Drive. The new 60,000-sf theater building has a 6,000 sf lobby and has 16 theaters ranging in seating size from 150 to more than 450 seats. Moorefield says his company is busy working on other Century Theater projects.

'We are currently in the process of building several other theaters for Century including a 16 plex in Richmond at the Hill Top Plaza and also a 16 plex in Pleasant Hill. We recently completed the Great Mall 20 plex in Milpitas and will open the newly remodeled Service Merchandise building which is now a 50,000 sf 14 plex slated to open May."
