Supply Chain Giant Inks $2.8-Mil Deal for Warehouse

PHOENIX-A fast-growing supply chain management company has leased a 133,300-sf warehouse in Tempe vacated by a technology company that's in the midst of bankruptcy liquidation.

PHOENIX-Eagle Global Logistics, a Houston-based warehousing, transportation and supply chain management firm, has leased a 133,300-sf warehouse at 443 W. Alameda Dr. in Tempe. The warehouse is within a mile of both Interstate 10 and the Superstition Freeway, the main thoroughfares through the Valley. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport lies just three miles to the northwest.

The warehouse was formally occupied by Tempe-based MicroAge, which provided computer systems and configurations to medium and large companies. Last month, the creditors of MicroAge rejected a plan that would have allowed the company to come out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Now a wholesale liquidation of the company’s assets and lease holdings is under way. The company was one of the largest employers in the state, with more than 2,400 employees.
